I like astronomy, archaeology, photography, music and drinking a lot of tea. I hate politics. Something that annoys me: that I shall not respect the permanence, and to take me by what I'm not. The best sign: VIRGO. The worst: the health. The best: adapt and know how to get ahead. CONJUNCTION OF VENUS AND JUPITER Taken by Andrew Greenwood on November 13, 2017 @ Bollington, Cheshire, UK
It’s not every day that the Solar System’s two brightest planets align … A 0500 start and trek up to White Nancy in sub-zero temperatures was required this morning to see Jupiter and Venus rise above Shining Tor in the pre-dawn gloaming. It’s a shame that the two planets are so difficult to see in these images, but what a sight as the pairing slowly cleared the horizon creating a beautiful diagonal alignment with Mars and the crescent Moon. It can be difficult to comprehend such a view – standing on Earth; seeing Venus and Mars respectively inside and outside of our orbit; then mighty Jupiter almost 45 minutes from Earth if you travelled at the speed of light. Truly amazing.
