In five years' time, we will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of the projection planetarium. The first ZEISS planetarium was personally presented by Managing Director Walther Bauersfeld on 21 October 1923 in the then new building of the Deutsches Museum in Munich.
Exactly 95 years later, ZEISS is again active in the planetarium dome of the Deutsches Museum. The current technology – a SKYMASTER ZKP 4 combined with a VELVET fulldome system – has been in operation since 2015. The projection technology is being serviced to be fully operational for visitors over the next five years.
