I like astronomy, archaeology, photography, music and drinking a lot of tea. I hate politics. Something that annoys me: that I shall not respect the permanence, and to take me by what I'm not. The best sign: VIRGO. The worst: the health. The best: adapt and know how to get ahead. A NEW PLANETARIUM IN THE CAPITAL RANCHI. ZEISS EQUIPPED THE DOME THEATRE WITH A HYBRID PLANETARIUM CONSISTING OF AN OPTICAL-MECHANICAL SKYMASTER ZKP 4 PLANETARIUM PROJECTOR IN CONJUNCTION WITH A DIGITAL DOME PROJECTION SYSTEM
On 4 October 2019, Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das opened a new planetarium in the capital Ranchi. ZEISS equipped the dome theatre with a hybrid planetarium consisting of an optical-mechanical SKYMASTER ZKP 4 planetarium projector in conjunction with a digital dome projection system. The 6k video projection is achieved by five Sony 4k laser projectors. The joint control of both projection systems by ZEISS enables the dynamic superimposition of didactic and image information on the brilliant artificial starry sky of the ZKP 4. Thanks to the LED light sources, the starry sky is projected as clearly as it can only be experienced in the high mountains. Therefore, the starry sky is particularly suitable to inspire visitors to engage in astronomy and science.
Together with the Indian agency Orbit Animate, ZEISS designed the planetarium equipment. The scope of supply also included the projection dome, the sound technology and the dome lighting.
The planetarium is an institution of the Jharkhand Council on Science and Technology and named after Varahamihira, an Indian astronomer, philosopher and mathematician from the 6th century. Already on the first day over 1000 guests visited the new Planetarium.
