I like astronomy, archaeology, photography, music and drinking a lot of tea. I hate politics. Something that annoys me: that I shall not respect the permanence, and to take me by what I'm not. The best sign: VIRGO. The worst: the health. The best: adapt and know how to get ahead. COMET JOHNSON IN BOOTES GALAXYLAND Taken by Bill Williams on May 25, 2017 @ Chiefland Astronomy Village, Florida
Comet C/2015 V2 (Johnson) is bright at about magnitude 7.5-8 but its antitail has been faint and elusive. Imager Chris Schur captured it well with a 2 hour comet-guided exposure. I had to go 1 hour star-guided LRGB with my Vixen f/3.8 refractor, deep enough to record Abell Galaxy Cluster 2005, to ferret out the antitail! The IAU Minor Planet Center ephemeris sure is accurate (data used to make attached animation).
