An elongated, streaming arch of darker, cooler plasma rose up at the edge of the Sun before it broke apart, sending some particles into space (Apr. 28, 2016), while some of the material fell back into the Sun. The particles were streaming along curved magnetic field lines connecting areas of north and south polarity. These details were captured in a wavelength of extreme ultraviolet light. The video clip covers 12 hours of activity.
