KITT PEAK OBS MOON PLANETS STARS Taken by Gary on November 6, 2016 @ Kitt Peak National Obs, AZ

The Nightly Observing Program at the Kitt Peak National Observatory near Tucson, AZ was the perfect place to be on Nov. 6th, 2016 to see the Moon, Mars, Venus and Saturn in the Western sunset sky. When it got darker the Milky Way in SGR/SCO/OPH became visible and to the north and northeast were Polaris and Capella, (AUR) Algol (PER)rising over the Visitors Center with Taurus and the Pleiades cluster to the right. The stargazing group learned to use star charts, binoculars and then finished the evening with telescope observing.
