Happy Birthday Ernst Abbe! 🎂
On 23 January 1840, exactly 177 years ago, Ernst Abbe was born in Eisenach, Germany. He is remembered as a physicist, inventor, entrepreneur and social reformer. As a young scientist, Abbe made his knowledge available to Carl Zeiss. Together, they began what would prove to be a long history of innovations at the company.
