I like astronomy, archaeology, photography, music and drinking a lot of tea. I hate politics. Something that annoys me: that I shall not respect the permanence, and to take me by what I'm not. The best sign: VIRGO. The worst: the health. The best: adapt and know how to get ahead. PASSING CLOUD MAKES SUN APPEAR TO SET TWICE Taken by Peter Lowenstein on March 17, 2016 @ Mutare, Zimbabwe
Yesterday evening (17 March) a lone small, very brightly illuminated cloud passing behind Murahwa Mountain at the exact point where the sun was going down, made it appear to set twice (see accompanying time-lapse mosaic). The following pictures show a general view of the sun setting in an otherwise almost cloudless sky over Murahwa Mountain, a close-up of the sun with a passing swallow just before it started to set, and a second lone cloud which popped up above the summit at the same location a few minutes later. A most unusual display created by an extraordinary combination of circumstances. The photographs were taken using a Panasonic Lumix compact camera in sunset scenery mode
