I like astronomy, archaeology, photography, music and drinking a lot of tea. I hate politics. Something that annoys me: that I shall not respect the permanence, and to take me by what I'm not. The best sign: VIRGO. The worst: the health. The best: adapt and know how to get ahead. LAST QUARTER MOON, MARS AND SATURN Taken by Peter Lowenstein on April 8, 2018 @ Mutare, Zimbabwe
The last quarter Moon, Mars and Saturn with some of the stars in Sagittarius were photographed directly overhead in the early hours of the morning of 8th April. The first image is a close-up of the third quarter Moon with a straight terminator. The second is a beautiful mosaic showing the relative positions of the Moon and planets Mars (orange) and Saturn (bluish). The latter have been enhanced using a star filter. Camera: Hand-held Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 in night scenery mode with up to x 60 zoom magnification.
