I like astronomy, archaeology, photography, music and drinking a lot of tea. I hate politics. Something that annoys me: that I shall not respect the permanence, and to take me by what I'm not. The best sign: VIRGO. The worst: the health. The best: adapt and know how to get ahead. DOUBLE SUNSET AND SUNSPOTS Taken by Peter Lowenstein on September 4, 2017 @ Mutare, Zimbabwe
Late this afternoon (04/09) while the setting Sun emerged below a bank of cloud over Christmas Pass, a double briefly appeared through a circular hole in the cloud above creating the illusion of a double sunset. Twenty minutes later the Sun reappeared through a gap between some lower cloud and the Christmas Pass Hills for just long enough to photograph the two large complex sunspot groups AR 2673 and 2674. Two Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 cameras were used, the first in unfiltered and the second in filtered sunset scene modes.
