I like astronomy, archaeology, photography, music and drinking a lot of tea. I hate politics. Something that annoys me: that I shall not respect the permanence, and to take me by what I'm not. The best sign: VIRGO. The worst: the health. The best: adapt and know how to get ahead. FULL SKY AIRGLOW Taken by Giuseppe Petricca on September 12, 2018 @ Stornoway, Eilean Siar, United Kingdom
My first time ever in observing this fantastic atmospheric phenomenon! Greenish waves that slowly covered the entire sky, caused by a number of processes (like the recombination of atoms which were photoionized by the Sun, or the chemiluminescence caused by the reactions between oxygen and nitrogen) in the atmosphere of the Earth, at about 100 km of height.
An evening dominated by bouts of clear skies between one rain and the other, with fast-moving clouds all around. A wonderful Milky Way visible from horizon to horizon, together with many constellations of the northern night sky. Unforgettable memories in the Outer Hebrides!
