Preliminary results of Tutankhamun tomb’s Infrared and Radar Scan

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Antiquities Minister Dr. Mamdouh Eldamaty announced a while ago the preliminary results of the scanning works performed inside King Tutankhamun Tomb in the past two days ago. The Radar and Infrared scan works reveal a vacancy behind the northern wall of the tomb which strongly indicates the existence of a new burial chamber. The announcement was made during the press conference held this morning at the Howard Carter Rest house – Valley of the Kings – Luxor.

Eldamaty clarified that the actual procedures inside the Gold Pharaoh will not start until all the data and information perceived by Radar and Infrared devices are carefully studied and analyzed by Japanese experts. A work plan will be set afterwards according to the information received, and then the work begins.
Eldamaty further elaborates that the teamwork has started the radar scan inside tomb KV5 that belongs to the sons of Ramses II to obtain different readings. This tomb was chosen in particular, added Eldamaty, because it does not contain any scenes nor inscriptions, also what lies beneath this tomb is already known, a matter that facilitates the comparison between it and that of King Tut.

Eldamaty finally added that the Tomb’s work plan will be announced after the Japanese expert finishes his works hoping that an enormous archaeological discovery will be declared soon..!!
