While theres no shortage of dark sites and unique landscapes in southern Utah for astrophotography, but sometimes it can be difficult to find a good one without like-minded photographers already there competing for position.
This past Saturday however, I was lucky enough to have this spot to myself on a clear and moonless night - which gave me the freedom to set up my equipment in a precise, up-close position for an extended period of time. The resulting image is a time-lapse photo of the winter sky, with the ecliptic running diagonally through the frame, and perpendicular through the arch.
Total elapsed time illustrated in this image is roughly 40 minutes (about 80 exposures stacked together).

Corona Arch is located about 15 minutes south of Moab, Utah. Its roughly right in between Arches and Canyonlands National Parks.
