COMET-HELIXNEBULA RENDEZVOUS PART II Taken by Bill Williams on June 4, 2016 @ Chiefland Astronomy Village, Florida

Success recording the closest approach of Comet C/2013 X1 (PanSTARRS) to the Helix Nebula last night (Saturday morn, June 4)! The two were so close as to allow me to grab an image through my 14.5-inch RCOS with Apogee CCD Camera with a field size of only 36 arcmin! I also attached another image taken with the widefield Vixen refractor showing the ion tail grazing the Helix. The weather gods smiled on me both Friday and Saturday mornings allowing me to enjoy this unusual apparition under crystal clear pre-dawn skies.
