MILKY WAY GALAXY & SOUTHERN CROSS Taken by Frederic Hore on January 8, 2017 @ Collawara Observatory, Andacolla, Chile

Travelling through Chile, Ive been visiting some observatories in the Vicuna region, where many of the worlds biggest telescopes are located. These photos are from the privately run observatory at Collawara, near the town of Andacolla, that is open to the pubic. At 52% illumination, the moon was quite bright, so I had to wait until 4am when it was below the horizon, to finally capture the magnificent beauty of the Southern hemispheres star clusters, including the Southern Cross and grandiose Milky Way.
