I like astronomy, archaeology, photography, music and drinking a lot of tea. I hate politics. Something that annoys me: that I shall not respect the permanence, and to take me by what I'm not. The best sign: VIRGO. The worst: the health. The best: adapt and know how to get ahead. GALILEOS VENUS Taken by Paolo Bardelli, Antonio Paganoni on March 14, 2017 @ Sumirago (Varese), Italy
In this period amateurs do some great planetary images. But 400 years ago what Galileo saw in his telescope? Antonio Paganoni (www.antoniopaganoni.it/) in his laboratory has built some wooden models of the Galilean telescope identical to the originals preserved in Florence. Also the lenses are similar to the original with the same optical defects. It is fantastic to observe Venus in this telescope, but it is very, very difficult to take pictures with this f/50 (!), without finder and with an altazimuth wooden mount! And with a very, very small exit pupil! After two nights of testing, this is the result. Venus was about 10 degrees height. The image is only countered. The optical defect is very obvious.
Canon 70d + zoom 28/105 mm. macro.
