COMET 46P/WIRTANEN Taken by Chris Schur on November 29, 2018 @ Payson, AZ

For us in central Arizona, the comet has finally cleared the trees and the sky cleared for an evening. Here is a 55 minute exposure set with the 33 year old Meade 622, a schmidt newtonian of six inches aperture made specifically for both viewing AND imaging comets. Ive since modified it to be an astrograph by installing a solid focuser, and shortening the tube to increase backfocus. Also I now use a Baader MPCC corrector and the combination of both correctors yields a sharp field at f/3.6. Thanks for looking - its been a long wait for the sky to clear!
