CONJUNCTION OF MOON, JUPITER AND SPICA. Taken by Jingpeng Liu on August 25, 2017 @ Eugene Mahoney State Park, Ashland, NE, USA

While the heat of the eclipse is not yet over, the moon is already up to another less spectacular but also interesting phenomenon, in which it forms a triangle with planet Jupiter and Spica, the brightest star in the constellation of Virgo. That triangle is easily visible to unaided eyes shortly after sunset in lower west sky, against dynamic afterglows.
